Here is an overview of some of the professions that you can carry out within the GCF Group.

 

The oenologists

A wine taster first and foremost, the oenologist possesses vast general knowledge in the areas of wines and spirits.
According to their profiles, the profession of oenologist may involve quite different activities.

 

The buyer
He determines the characteristics of the liquids sold by the Group, according to the brands and customers’ wishes,
He has real negotiating talent put to use in buying liquids, on the basis of specifications, from producers in France and all over the world.

 

The cultivation manager, technical director
He monitors the work of the growers who provide the grapes or the company’s wine-producing personnel on one or more wine-producing estates. He may take on responsibility for a wine-producing centre.
Presence on the ground, knowledge of the terroirs, good interpersonal skills and leadership qualities are essential characteristics in these professions.

 

The cellar manager
He supervises the treatment and assembly operations for the wines in the cellar, the rotation of wine in the vat and the operations related to making the wines available for packaging, according to the given timeframes.

 

Liquid quality manager

He provides his expertise for all operations concerning the purchase or evolution of equipment in the cellar or bottling unit as well as for oenological products.

The liquid quality manager operates in an environment associated with agri-food health and safety standards, taking care to apply them throughout his scope of work.

   

Cellarman

Devoted to the preparation of wine, his overall task is to produce and oversee the wines or spirits in the cellar. After acceptance of the lorries on arrival, he monitors the quality control management carried out in the laboratory. Once this step has been approved, he looks after the unloading of the lorries (industrial volumes) and then ensures that the specifications are followed with regard to assembling and maturing the wines in the cellar.

He works in a strict food health and safety environment with reference to the quality charter applicable within the GCF group.

Machine operator

Within the GCF Group, bottling units are made up of equipment such as: depalletisers, rinsing, filling and corking machines, labellers, automatic palletisation, stretch wrapping machines... offering numerous possibilities for progress.

A machine operator on the automated bottling line generally has a technical profile. Depending on the position, first-level knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, fluids and maintenance are required to carry out the job.


For each post, the machine operator is tasked with guaranteeing production in line with the applicable standards. He thus moves in a normative environment in terms of agri-food health and safety.

Sales assistant

At the crossroads between the customer and the company’s different departments, (s)he is responsible for customer satisfaction while ensuring the administrative and commercial tracking of their orders, along a set sales pipeline. (S)he must be able to coordinate each request according to the stock status (ensuring procurement).

This sedentary position requires fluency in at least one foreign language for the “Export” positions (usually English or German) along with good knowledge of office IT tools.
